Nate kicked off his nutrition journey with the 28 Day Nutrition Challenge back in January and hasn’t looked back. Over the past 5 months, he’s replaced some old habits that weren’t serving him with healthier ones, all while being a working dad and softball coach. He’s lost nearly 40 lbs and 8.2% body fat so far while maintaining strength, hitting PRs, and improving his gymnastic movements at the gym.
What has been integral to your success in working towards your health and wellness goals?
I have enjoyed this community for over 5 years and it has played a significant role in my health and wellness. I think commitment to nutrition and the accountability of the program have been an integral part of my goals. “The way I look at it, we’ve only just begun.” Progress not perfection is something that I need to continue working on. I will have bad days, I now understand that will happen and it’s more about the pick up than the put down. “Win the F****** day”
What are some non-scale victories that you’ve experienced during nutrition coaching?
I coach about 12-15 hours a week of softball and there’s no way I could keep up. I’m doing this to be a good example for my family, friends and my players. I preach hard work, hustle, and dedication and would be a hypocrite if I didn’t do the same thing. My gymnastics movements have increased tremendously all while maintaining strength.
What advice would you give someone who is considering the nutrition program, but afraid to sign-up?
I really would recommend doing a 28 day challenge when offered. Commit to a program and see what you can accomplish. My route to weight loss and wellness is not a blanket statement program. There will be adjustments and bad days/weeks/months. Stay committed and kick today’s ass.
Sycamore CrossFit is proud of Nate’s commitment to making lifestyle changes to improve his overall health. It’s been rewarding to see his progress in the gym, and we can’t wait to see him get a muscle up! Keep “winning the day” and shedding those pounds, #MFNJ!
