Why did you choose Sycamore CrossFit? Why do you keep coming back?
I choose Sycamore CrossFit because my brother, Nate, is coach here and when he would come home to visit, he would always talk about the workouts. I always told myself that those sounded crazy to do but oddly enough I was interested in doing one. After completing Foundations, I loved the feeling of completing a workout. I kept coming back because there’s no better feeling than completing a tough workout and being able to say I completed that.
What’s your best story about the gym?
One of my best stories from the gym is probably when we were near the end of completing a workout. I was the last one to finish. While I was rowing away, the members of the gym were cheering me on to finish. That made me want to row faster and stronger. One favorite things about gym is how everyone cheers each other on.
What advice would you give to the person you were a year ago?
The advice I would give to myself a year ago is to not be afraid to try something new and to not be afraid to ask for help! When first going to Sycamore CrossFit, I was so nervous to come. I didn’t think I was going to be good at it. The coaches were always there to answer any of my questions when needed, which made it easier for me to ask help. The members are very supportive and everyone is friendly. I’m glad I gave SCF a try!
What accomplishment at the gym or in your nutrition are you the most proud of?
The one thing I’m very proud of is my self-discipline with my nutrition. I went to a nutrition meeting and met with Carl, we went over my meal preparations. I knew I had to stick the plan. I wanted to get better at picking the healthier choices. Having meals planned and ready to go really helped me stay on track and the check-ins made me stay accountable for my goals.
