Why did you choose Sycamore CrossFit? Why do you keep coming back?
I chose Sycamore CrossFit because I wanted to start having a more decisive workout regiment that wasn’t just maxing out on bench press every other day. I keep coming back, now more regularly than ever, because of the amazing vibes at SCF and how helpful the coaches are at helping me reach my goals.
What’s your best story about the gym?
A memory that sticks out in my head is when I was doing the “Helen” and I was on my very last set of 12 pull-ups. I jumped down from the bar with 8 more to go and Coach Nate started yelling at me very angrily to get back on the bar and finish it. Immediately I jumped up and did the rest, even though I was completely gassed and didn’t think it was possible. Turns out he was just super pumped for me to break the gym’s record for that workout! Haha!Also, pretty much every time Coach Eric or Chris see me they tell me what the best time/reps was for the workout and just wait for me to try to beat it, knowing that I probably have no chance getting even close 😂
What advice would you give to the person you were a year ago?
If I could give myself a year ago advice, it would be to start coming more consistently sooner! Since I’ve been coming to SCF more frequently, it’s become even more enjoyable once you get to know everyone, and I’ve been getting better at almost every movement.
What accomplishment at the gym or in your nutrition are you the most proud of?
I’m most proud of how disciplined I’ve been on actually making it to the gym every day and following SCF’s WOD programming. Like I said before, I used to always do the same workouts every time I went to the gym, and I’m happy that I finally don’t just skip a day just because I don’t want to work out a certain muscle group (leg day) 😂
