Why did you choose Sycamore CrossFit? Why do you keep coming back?
I was ready to be back in an environment where I could work out and be challenged by coaches weekly. It’s the best place I’ve been to in the Dekalb/Sycamore area.
I keep coming back because of the coaches, so many friendly people in my classes and the continued progress I’ve made.
What’s your best story about the gym?
I was doing my modified rope climbs when Coach Nate encouraged me to try the rope climb without modifications. I was definitely nervous and hesitant as I tried before and was very unsuccessful. The encouragement I got from everyone in the gym that day really helped a lot. I truly appreciated everyone’s help and now I feel super accomplished that I can rope climb!
What advice would you give to the person you were a year ago?
If you never start you’ll never get there and I’m so glad that I made a change and started.
What accomplishment at the gym or in your nutrition are you the most proud of?
So far, that I am getting better at the different types of lifts each week. Now, I am starting to challenge myself with more weight. I felt like I was never going to have the correct lifting technique! I see improvement but I still have things to improve upon. It’s better than week one. This is a marathon not a sprint!
