SYCAMORE SPORT PERFORMANCE is Sycamore CrossFit’s strength and conditioning program for teens ages 12 and up.

Our training this summer will focus on building strength and power on and off the field in our brand new sport performance room at Sycamore CrossFit.
We will use:
- Barbells
- Medicine balls
- Sandbags
- Dumbbells
Most movements are round-based, using bodyweight or free weights as resistance. We move the whole body for these movements to work multiple muscle groups together, and our focus is on quality of movement. High-quality movement is always required to move up in weight.
The strength training portion will focus on compound, functional exercises (such as lunges, squats, step-ups, push-ups, dips, chin-ups), and take into account balancing the strength of opposing muscle groups (i.e quadriceps vs. hamstrings).
Power is the combination of strength and speed. A more powerful player is a more formidable player. To improve speed and explosiveness we will include power movements such as jump squats, power cleans, and push presses, as well as plyometric drills.
Finally, a significant component of athleticism is speed. While endurance and strength are important to improving your performance, faster players have a definite competitive edge. This program will also focus on improving speed.
