Over the past five months, Chase has been stacking healthy habits consistently leading to impressive results with our nutrition program. He’s built a solid routine – finding time to meal prep for one on top of his busy work schedule and has found ways to navigate going out with friends while staying on track with his health and wellness goals. His dedication to lifestyle shifts are evident on the scale, in his appearance, and how much better he feels.
What has been integral to your success in working towards your health and wellness goals?
Consistency has been my biggest success while participating in nutrition coaching. I prep most of my meals during the week so I always have good food choices available. I plan ahead for times that I am going out and being social, knowing I won’t have the most nutritious options available. I am guilt-free when I plan ahead and accept a healthy balance rather than perfection.
What are some non-scale victories that you’ve experienced during nutrition coaching?
I have been on the Bone Marrow Registry for several years and recently got the call that I was a match for a Leukemia patient that needed stem cells. I really dislike having blood drawn and going to the doctor in general, so it had been a few years since I had labs drawn. A year ago, I likely would have been disqualified for my weight/BMI being as high as it was, but after getting serious with my nutrition, I passed a pretty extensive health screening with flying colors! I was able to donate stem cells on fairly short notice to someone in need, and it was a pretty neat experience!
What advice would you give someone who is considering the nutrition program, but afraid to sign-up?
Take the time to invest in your personal health. I made positive changes to my lifestyle prior to nutrition coaching that allowed me to lose some weight, but then I leveled off. Since I began nutrition coaching in January, I have lost an additional 25 pounds and lowered my body fat percentage by more than 5%. The data from the InBody scan keeps me motivated and reaching for my goals. Coaching has also built habits that are sustainable, compared to dieting with no exit plan.
Sycamore CrossFit is proud of Chase’s commitment to making lifestyle changes to improve his overall health. It’s been rewarding to witness him break through a weight loss plateau and see body composition changes. Keep up the good work, Chase!
