Why did you choose Sycamore CrossFit? Why do you keep coming back?
During college, I was fortunate enough to play for the women’s soccer team all four years. However, after I graduated from college last year, I realized that I needed another exercise outlet. At the time, my mom had been going to CrossFit for several months and had been encouraging me to join. A few months later I joined. When I first started a lot of the lifts and movements were very new to me but I liked the challenge it presented. I have been going to CrossFit for about 10 months now.
I continue to come back for several reasons. I enjoy being active and CrossFit gives me that opportunity daily. The workouts consist of a variety of movements that keep it interesting. The environment of the gym is supportive, fun, and motivating.
What’s your best story about the gym?
There are so many great stories, it’s hard to pick just one. But, mostly it has become a family affair, as I enjoy attending class with my brother and mom. We are all a little competitive so it makes classes fun. I’ve always liked the camaraderie of the gym, everyone supports everyone.
What advice would you give to the person you were a year ago?
You need to challenge yourself. You will never grow if you don’t push yourself.
What accomplishment at the gym or in your nutrition are you the most proud of?
I am most proud of my overall increase in strength. Throughout my time at CrossFit I have been able to see myself increase in weight while performing various lifts.
