Why did you choose Sycamore CrossFit? Why do you keep coming back?
I was looking for a workout program that would keep me interested and incorporate weights into it to help me build the strength that I needed to. I keep coming back because it’s not a “one-size fits all” program; we might all be doing the same workout but at different weights or with whatever modifications we might need to complete the workout safely. Another thing that keeps me coming back is how well the Coaches supported and encouraged members during the pandemic shut-down this spring. Their willingness and effort to provide at-home workouts as well as encouragement during weekly phone calls so that we could continue to work towards our goals was amazing.
What’s your best story about the gym?
I’m not sure that I have a best story; but what I love about SCF is the welcoming atmosphere and the support/encouragement that coaches and other members give each other. Hearing Coach Eric holler “Hello Diann” or having the dogs run up to greet me when I walk in the door makes me feel at home and as if I belong and that’s pretty awesome.
What advice would you give to the person you were a year ago?
Finesse over speed! Getting the results you want is all about form – so just focus on your own workout and don’t worry about how quickly or slowly you finish it.
What accomplishment at the gym or in your nutrition are you the most proud of?
I worked really hard during the pandemic to complete the daily at-home workouts that Coach Chris sent out and was able to increase the amount of weight I used for several movements when the gym reopened.
