5 Secrets to Fitting Workouts into Your Busy Schedule

Life is crazy! It can get so busy and hectic, and you can end up feeling like you just can’t add one more thing to your plate. How am I possibly going to fit in a workout on a regular basis?

But you know there are people out there who lead incredibly busy lives and also manage to workout 4-5 days per week. So how do they do it? What is their secret?

Secret #1 – They make exercise a priority

Life is all about priorities. Your family. Your friends. Your job. But what about your health?

People who consistently workout prioritize their health and fitness. They realize how important their health is to their quality of life. They realize how much better and easier their life will be if they are fit. They want to be able to easily walk up several flights of stairs. They want to be able to run and play with their kids and even their grandkids.

If your health and fitness are a priority, consistent workouts come naturally.

Secret #2 – They don’t waste time

If you’re really busy, then you don’t have time to waste.

Why spend 90 minutes on the elliptical when you could get a way better workout plus a warm-up done in an hour.

Busy people find the most effective workout that gets them the best results in the smallest amount of time. This means integrating weightlifting, cardio, and gymnastics. No more leg day, chest day, etc. We’re talking total body working every time they exercise.

Busy people definitely don’t have time to get injured, so they make sure they’re using good form by having a coach watch and correct their movements.

Planning workouts? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Busy people have someone else (like a coach or fitness center) programming their workouts for them.

You can save the most time by knowing all you need to do is show up. The coach tells you what to do, and you know you’ll get an amazing workout and be in and out in under an hour!

Secret #3 – They choose something they enjoy

It’s much easier to find the time to fit your workout in if you’re actually enjoying it! We make time for the things we enjoy. We avoid the things we dread. (Putting away laundry, anyone?) 

People who fit in their workouts consistently have found something they enjoy. They pick a program that isn’t boring. They might choose something like Sycamore CrossFit where the workouts are different everyday!

Secret #4 – They merge fitness with socializing

Busy people try to take care of more than one thing at a time. They answer emails while they wait in the grocery checkout line. They clean the kitchen while they’re making dinner. And they turn their workout into their social hour!

Our group classes are the best hour of people’s day not just because of the awesome workouts, but because it’s also a social experience. Even the busiest people find time to hang out with their friends, so why not do it while you get a workout in?

Secret #5 – They schedule it in as a non-negociable

If you have a doctor’s appointment, you go to it.

When your child has a team practice, you make it there.

So why can’t we do the same with our own workout?

People who consistently workout 4-5 times per week have worked it into their schedule. They find a time that works for them, and they schedule it into their lives. They know that’s when they’ll be working out, and they treat it like an appointment. Unless an emergency comes up, they’re going.
