Nutrition Spotlight – Tiffany

Tiffany’s progress over the past 5 months is proof that the combination of working out and fueling with quality, whole food nutrition will quickly change your body composition. Since joining CrossFit in August, she has been upgrading her nutrition and stacking healthy habits all while becoming more comfortable and improving in the gym. In just 5 months, she’s down 5.6 lbs and 6.1% body fat and has gained 3.3 lbs of muscle!

What has been integral to your success in working towards your health and wellness goals?

Consistency and a restriction-free mentality! No matter what life throws my way I make sure to stay consistent with showing up to the gym and fueling my body with nutrient-dense food choices. That being said, I also listen to my body, when I need a break I take a break, if I want a slice of pizza I have it and move on. I do not restrict myself anymore as I have in the past which only led to poor nutrition habits.

What are some non-scale victories that you’ve experienced during nutrition coaching?

I feel great in my clothes which make me feel good inside and out! I also love how much I continue to grow with my progress in the gym by lifting heavier and feeling more comfortable with movements that scared me on day one. After 5 months of doing CrossFit, I feel I am starting to notice body composition changes on myself and see muscles I didn’t know I had which is very cool.

What advice would you give someone who is considering the nutrition program, but is afraid to sign-up?

Emily’s approach to nutrition is as real as it gets and you set up small habits that work for you over time. I love that you can customize how many times a month you want to meet with her to fit your needs. For example, I had no clue where to start and I felt a bit lost so I signed up for weekly half-hour meetings for my first month. After we established a great relationship and honed in on my goals, achievements, and areas of improvement I felt comfortable going down to twice a month and now I just see her monthly. My advice is to just get in and see her and the rest will fall into place! 

Tiffany is ditching the diet mentality, finding balance, and building healthy habits that will last a lifetime. Sycamore CrossFit is proud of her dedication to our nutrition program and inspired by her results!
