Why did you choose Sycamore CrossFit?
I was 49 years old and feeling desperate. My body shape was heading in a direction I disliked. It may sound vain, but I wasn’t done feeling pretty. I needed to do something drastic. I had driven by SCF for years and even though I had no clue what CrossFit was all about, it sounded like the most extreme option for me to try.
Why do you keep coming back?
It’s challenging, the variety, it makes me feel amazing, the camaraderie, the gym dogs, the encouragement, the happy mail, the acknowledgement, the members, the coaches and their wealth of knowledge, the equipment, the feeling of inclusion, and the results! I also love that SCF has a nutrition program – it has done wonders for me!
What’s your best story about SCF?
I have so many. Other members working out alongside me even though their workout is already done. Being able to climb a rope for the first time in my life! The feeling of being together, even though we were apart during the Stay at Home order.
What advice would you give the person you were a year ago?
Every little thing you do at SCF is progression. You may not feel or look like you’re improving but you are. Speak up, the members are really nice and they like you.
