Athlete of the Week – Bret Tucker

Athlete of the Week – Bret T.
Congratulations goes out to Bret T for being chosen as this weeks’ Sycamore CrossFit Athlete of the Week! Bret is a regular at the 5:00 pm class, and has shown great progress and commitment since joining us in October. His most recent PRs this month were hitting his 215 lb front squat PR, which was an increase of 40 lbs, and also hitting his 275 lb deadlift PR! Way to go Bret! The coaching team really loves having him in class since he is always willing to work hard and focus on learning the challenging movements. Keep up the hard work, we know you will continue to kill it! P.S. We think the people at our gym are pretty great too. 🙂

To do a ring muscle-up

Proudest moment in CrossFit so far?
Competing and finishing the CrossFit Games. They were a lot of fun and pushed me past what I thought were my limits.
What kept you coming back?
I really enjoy the camaraderie and overall banter with everyone. The people at this gym are great and it really makes coming here something I look forward to doing every day.
Your advice for someone considering starting CrossFit?
I remember when I first began I felt out of place because everyone was so much stronger & faster. Keep pushing yourself to be a better you and before you know it, you will be one of those people. Give it a try and maybe you can find that gym that works for the rest of your life. I know I did.
How has Sycamore CrossFit changed your life?
I feel like I have filled the hole of no longer being in competitive sports.
